You can buy the Fallout 4 Automatron DLC separately for $9.99 on March 22 or receive it as part of the Fallout 4 Season Pass for $49.99. Keep in mind Bethesda raised the price of the Fallout 4 Season Pass on March 1. It originally cost $29.99, and some fans were upset at the Fallout 4 price hike.

Thankfully there’s more than the Automatron DLC on the way. The Fallout 4 Season Pass will also include Wasteland Workshop ($4.99, April 2016) and Far Harbor ($24.99, May 2016) content packs.

Automatron pits you against the Mechanist, a mysterious character who unleashes an army of robots upon the Commonwealth, including the Robobrain. You will hunt down and destroy these Mechanist robots, collect the parts and then create your own robot companions from a wide assortment of limbs, weapons, armor and abilities. You also have the option of tweaking robot voices and paint colors.

The trailer begins with glimpses of these enemy robots, with another robot stating:

“This is the third time we’d been attacked by robots like these. It’s time to uncover the source and confront their leader.”

The robot speaking requests the player’s assistance at stopping this menace. From there we see a montage of crude looking robots being created. At one point, an unseen player swaps out different parts.

During this montage, a robotic voice says, “You see junk. I see the building blocks of life. Mine in particular.”

We don’t know who speaks those lines, but the camera immediately cuts to a hulking brute to the left of the player, so it might be this robot.

Now there’s footage of robots duking it out with an assortment of weapons. One robot pelts it rival with gunfire, while another unleashes a jet of flame from its mouth.  Then a robot floating in midair swings and hits an opponent with a backhand strike. Later, a robot knocks its opponent to the ground and then punctures its adversary with two pincers.

The video concludes with a shot of the Mechanist, who says, “Now you’ll face the full might of the Mechanist. Come, my robots. Let’s finish this!”

The camera pans out to show the Mechanist overlooking at least seven of his robots. We presume they’re ready to head out into the Commonwealth.

We’ll post a Fallout 4 Automatron DLC walkthrough the week of March 22. We’ll tell you how to build the best robots in Fallout 4 and defeat the Mechanist.

Before playing Automatron, make sure you build the best weapon in Fallout 4. We’ll also tell you how to build a base and keep your settlers safe, and if you play on PC, don’t go back to the Commonwealth without these five must have Fallout 4 weapon mods.
