Last week, rumors popped up that those who purchased the Call of Duty: WWII season pass would get access to an exclusive bonus multiplayer map: Carentan, a map that originally appeared in the original Call of Duty and several other games in the series. Now, Activision has confirmed that such is indeed the case.
Activision confirmed the inclusion of Carentan in this recent blog post, saying that Call of Duty: WWII’s version of the map will be “a brand new version” that will likely have some noticeable differences from its past appearances. To date, Carentan has appeared in four previous Call of Duty games: Call of Duty, Call of Duty: United Offensive, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (in which it was remade with more modern themes).
The Carentan map will likely become available to those who don’t own the Call of Duty: WWII season pass sometime after launch, but for the time being, it will only be available to those who pony up for the pass.
