Call of Duty: WWII's Official Story Trailer Shows How Personal The Stakes Are

The Allies’ push out of Normandy will lead into a rescue mission.

Activision and Sledgehammer Games have released a new trailer for Call of Duty: WWII which shows that the stakes for the game’s Allied forces are both professional and personal.

Like with any trailer, it’s hard to piece together the exact timeline of events, but we know from previous marketing materials that players will chiefly play as Private Ronald “Red” Daniels, a fresh recruit who gets his first true taste of the war during the iconic D-Day invasion of Normandy. However, the trailer also shows that one of Red’s comrades is eventually captured by Nazi forces, forcing him and his team to consider an important question: is saving the life of one friend worth abandoning the orders of your superiors and thus potentially risking many more lives in the process?

Players will get to see the full repercussions of that question when Call of Duty: WWII launches on November 3 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
