Call of Duty: WWII’s new Headquarters will function as a public social space where players can hang out and show off their in-game accomplishments. As such, it makes sense that a direct statement from Sledgehammer Games confirms that Headquarters will allow players to explore using a third-person viewpoint.
When asked on Twitter whether the rumors that Call of Duty: WWII’s Zombies mode would utilize a third-person viewpoint were true, game director Michael Condrey said that they were not. However, Condrey also confirmed in the same breath that the Headquarters feature *would* allow for a third-person viewpoint, essentially making it similar to Destiny’s Tower social space. Certain parts of the Headquarters feature, such as the firing range, will naturally still use a first-person viewpoint.
Players will be able to find out for themselves how much of the Headquarters space they can explore in third-person when Call of Duty: WWII launches on November 3.
