Black Ops 3 Descent DLC Trailer - 10 Things You Might Have Missed

Everything you might have missed in Black Ops 3 Descent DLC’s new Gorod Krovi trailer.

The Gorod Krovi Zombies trailer has been released for several hours now, and after painstaking frame-by-frame analysis of the trailer, we've found 10 things that you might have missed in the Black Ops 3 Descent DLC Gorod Krovi trailer.

1. Mounted Machine Gun

Now this is something that may not be interesting to many, however this is the first time that mounted machine guns have been placed in a Zombies map. This opens a wide variety of different opportunities for players to take out hordes of the undead in unique and compelling ways. Will you hold off the waves of Zombies in Gorod Krovi by training them in circles, or will you stay posted up with a large mounted machine gun at your disposal?

2. Zombies Boss

It's safe to say that the boss in the new Gorod Krovi Zombies map is definitely going to be something you want to be weary of. We see him quite frequently throughout the Black Ops 3 Descent DLC trailer, and in some parts we actually see two of them. Like the Panzer Soldats and Thrashers from previous Zombies maps, it's likely that these new bosses will spawn every 5 rounds or so to change things up from killing traditional zombies.

From looking at Gorod Krovi’s gameplay images, it appears that these zombies are equipped with massive claws for close quarters engagements, as well as a massive cannon capable of dealing damage to you at medium to long range. You'll want to take out these new zombies as fast as possible once the Black Ops 3 Descent DLC map pack is released!

3. Electrified Skeletons

I'm not entirely sure about how these new enemies will work in Gorod Krovi, at first glance I instantly thought of the electrified Exo-Zombies from Advanced Warfare. It's likely that these electrified skeletons will deal damage and electrify your screen after being struck, just like if you were to be struck by an electric shield. I'll be definitely keeping a close eye on these skeletons, as it's possible they will be vital in one of the Easter Egg steps for Gorod Krovi.

4. Flying Machines

These flying machines do appear to be very futuristic and out of the ordinary, but then again the Zombies universe doesn't seem to have any logic. What is interesting is that these flying machines were designed and constructed by Group 935; what other interesting projects could we see in Gorod Krovi?

5. New Shield

Admittedly, this is something you probably noticed pretty much instantly. However, it's worth mentioning that a green mist surrounds the shield, and the shield itself is made from a dragon’s skull. It's possible that building the shield will require players to find all 3 parts located around the new Gorod Krovi Zombies map. Additionally, these shield parts could potentially be made out of dragon remains. After all, we see in the Black Ops 3 Descent DLC trailer that dragons and zombies are literally scattered here, there, and everywhere, so making a shield out of dragon bones seems plausible.

6. Ripper Specialist Weapon

If you're mainly a Call of Duty Zombies player and you've never really played the multiplayer side of the game then you may not have noticed that Spectre’s Ripper has been re-skinned and modified for the Gorod Krovi Zombies map. Just like the DG-4s that are Gravity Spikes in multiplayer, this funky looking weapon is actually Spectre’s Ripper, a very powerful specialist weapon that will allow a player to kill someone in the close vicinity by lunging and stabbing them. The specialist weapon in the Black Ops 3 Descent DLC trailer does seem much more powerful than it's multiplayer counterpart, but it may be worth practicing with Spectre’s Ripper in multiplayer before the Descent DLC pack is released.

7. DLC Weapons

After months of asking, the Zombies community have finally get the chance to use DLC weapons in Zombies. The FFAR, L4 Siege, and NX Shadowclaw are three of the weapons that I personally spotted in the Black Ops 3 Descent DLC trailer. On a side note, it also appears that these weapons can only be obtained via Gorod Krovi’s Mystery Box, rather than purchasable off the wall.

8. Drop Pod

I'm not entirely sure on what this is, but at a certain point in the Black Ops 3 Descent DLC trailer a drop pod seemingly falls from the sky and starts to electrocute zombies. This could potentially be a wide array of things from a new trap to a new GobbleGum. Either way, it's good to see that some brand new features are coming to Gorod Krovi and that Treyarch and its Zombies team are pushing Zombies to be an exciting new experience with every map they release.

9. Ray Gun Mk 3

This is something we've all been waiting for, the Ray Gun Mk 3 finally makes its debut in Black Ops 3’s Zombies component. Ever since the Ray Gun Mk 2 was added in DLC 3 of Black Ops 2, fans anticipated that the Ray Gun Mk 3 would eventually be introduced in Black Ops 3 Zombies. This now appears to be the case. In addition, the new Ray Gun appears to be not only one Ray Gun, but two. The duel wielding Ray Guns can be obtained via Gorod Krovi’s Mystery Box.

10. Riding The Dragon (Easter Egg)

The final part of the Black Ops 3 Descent DLC trailer shows our four characters riding a massive dragon in a few different cinematic shots, and to me, this seems to screams Easter Egg. After all, hopping onto a hundred foot dragon doesn't seem like something you'll be able to just do. It's possible that this will not be the ending to the Gorod Krovi Easter Egg, but one step that could allow players to go to a secret part of the map. Overall, the Gorod Krovi gameplay trailer is jam-packed with hints, secrets, and teases of what's to come on July 12th when the Black Ops 3 Descent DLC map pack is released.
